A Barbershop With Its Own Identity: Haestic x Sip N Slick

A Barbershop With Its Own Identity: Haestic x Sip N Slick

As Haestic continued expanding its barber community, our journey eventually brought us to the island.

Sip N Slick Barbershop in George Town became the first barbershop on Penang Island to work with Haestic.

The introduction came through Pitts Barbershop. After our relationship with Pitts grew, he referred us to Faizal, the owner of Sip N Slick.

Faizal welcomed us with open arms, and from there, another meaningful partnership began.

The First Barbershop on the Island

Sip N Slick has a character of its own.

The shop carries a classic barbershop feel but brings in touches of modern style. It does not feel like a typical barbershop trying to follow every trend. There is a clear identity to the place, and that is something we immediately appreciated.

For Haestic, finding a barbershop with its own character is important.

We believe every barbershop has its own story, its own community and its own way of doing things. Sip N Slick is a good example of that.

Working with Faizal also gave Haestic the opportunity to expand our barber community beyond the mainland and build a connection with barbers in George Town and Penang Island.

From the Barbershop to the Stage

Our collaboration with Sip N Slick soon went beyond the barbershop.

Faizal is not only a barber. He is also a theatre actor, and in June 2025, he took on the role of P. Ramlee in P. Ramlee: One in a Million 3, held at the JKKN Auditorium.

It was a different kind of collaboration for us.

Instead of seeing Faizal only behind the barber chair, we got to support him in another part of his craft and journey.

For Haestic, this is one of the things we enjoy about working with people in the barber community. There are often stories and talents beyond what we see inside the shop.

A barber can also be an artist, performer, entrepreneur, educator and many other things.

Celebrating Five Years of Sip N Slick

Our relationship with Sip N Slick continued to grow, and in May 2026, we came together again to celebrate an important milestone.

Sip N Slick was celebrating its 5th anniversary, and Haestic was happy to be part of the celebration.

We held a barbering class with Dann, bringing barbers together to learn, exchange ideas and celebrate the occasion.

For us, the class was not just another event.

It was a way to celebrate what Sip N Slick had built over five years and the community that had grown around it.

Why Sip N Slick Matters to Haestic

Sip N Slick represents something we value in our barber partnerships.

It has identity.

It has character.

And most importantly, it has people behind it who are passionate about what they do.

Our relationship with Faizal started through a referral from Pitts, but it has grown into its own partnership.

From George Town to the stage, and from the barbershop to barber education, our collaboration has taken us into places we probably would not have reached through a typical brand partnership.

That is what makes working with barbers so interesting for Haestic.

We are not just working with businesses.

We are working with people.

What’s Next?

Sip N Slick was the first barbershop on Penang Island to join our growing barber community, and the journey is still continuing.

From our first introduction through Pitts to working together on events, supporting Faizal’s creative journey and celebrating Sip N Slick’s fifth anniversary, every part of the collaboration has added something different.

We look forward to seeing what comes next for Faizal, Sip N Slick and the community around them.

For Haestic, the goal remains the same.

To build relationships with barbers who have their own identity, support their growth and create a stronger barber community together.

Because The Barbershop Experience is not just about what happens inside the shop.

It is about the people, the craft and the stories that come with it.

Haestic, Forever a Budiman.
