Building the Community: Haestic x Barbossa Barbershop
Building the Community: Haestic x Barbossa Barbershop
After our first collaboration with SB Barber, our journey with barbershops continued.
The next chapter started with Barbossa Barbershop in Kulim, led by its owner, Jai.
Our collaboration officially began on 21 October 2023 through a simple idea: bring people into the barbershop and let them experience a proper hairwash service using Haestic products.
That became our Free Hair Wash Event at Barbossa.
The Beginning at Barbossa
The Free Hair Wash Event was our first collaboration with Barbossa and our second barbershop collaboration after SB Barber.
The idea was straightforward. Customers could come to Barbossa and experience a professional hairwash service for free while getting to know Haestic and our products.
For us, it was more than just a promotional event.
Barbossa was already among the recognised barbershops in the Kulim area. Working with a barbershop that had built its own reputation helped Haestic establish more credibility within the local barber community.
We were not simply working with any barbershop.
We were starting to work alongside some of the barbershops that people already knew and trusted.
Growing Beyond Products
Our relationship with Barbossa continued beyond product promotion.
On 12 March 2024, Barbossa organised a charity event called Pulang ke School, bringing together the barbershop and students for a meaningful community initiative.
For Haestic, this was another reminder that the barber community is about more than haircuts and products.
Barbershops are part of the community around them. They create spaces where people meet, connect and sometimes come together to support something bigger.
That is also the kind of community we want Haestic to be part of.
Learning Together Through Classes
As our relationship with Barbossa continued, we also started using the barbershop as a space for education.
On 18 November 2024, Barbossa hosted Keratin Ambush by Haziq Brozkey, giving barbers an opportunity to learn and exchange knowledge about a different side of professional hair services.
More recently, on 11 March 2026, we held Seni Gunting: Classic x Modern, featuring Hafiz Anuar and Akmal.
The class brought together different approaches to haircutting, connecting classic techniques with modern barbering.
These classes are important to us because collaboration should not stop at putting a product on a shelf.
We want to help create opportunities for barbers to learn from one another, improve their skills and meet other people within the industry.
Why Barbossa Matters to Haestic
Barbossa represents an important part of what we want to build with the barber community.
Our relationship with Jai and the Barbossa team has allowed us to do more than introduce Haestic products to customers.
It has given us a place to hold events, support community initiatives and create learning opportunities for other barbers.
That is the kind of partnership we value.
A barbershop is not just a place where people come for a haircut. It can also be a place where knowledge is shared, relationships are built and the next generation of barbers can grow.
Haestic, Forever a Budiman.
